Arthur Kay, MD

Dr. Kay is chairman of the Department of Neurology at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Kay’s current interest is treatment of dementia, Parkinson‘s Disease and stroke. Dr. Kay received his MD from the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center. Following a residency in neurology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, he spent two years as a medical staff fellow in the Laboratory of Neurosciences of the National Institute on Aging where his research centered on age related changes in brain neurotransmitters and sensory-motor function in healthy adults.

As a Brookdale National Fellow, Dr. Kay was an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Geriatrics at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where he directed the Falls and Immobility Program. At present he is Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at SUNY - Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn and Chairman of Neurology at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he is immediate-past President of the Hospital’s Medical Board. Dr. Kay has supervised a stroke study at Brookdale Hospital, and been a co-investigator on 2 drug trials in Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Kay was recently named as one of the best doctors in New York by New York Magazine and the Castle Connolly guide.
